Incident/Casualty Investigation & Expert Witness Provision

Incident Investigation - from initial contact to subsequent attendance and investigation into the incident from a H&M or P&I perspective. Reports, overviews and summaries can be tailored to a client's specific requirements. From collisions to groundings, cargo handling disputes and any other incidents that require investigating.

Working closely with insurers on resulting claims surveys, owners can continue their operations with minimum disruption. Our surveys afford thorough ‘after the fact’ investigations and analysis to identify probable cause, nature and extent of damage to a vessel or cargo. Reports and comments will be complied for initial discussions, client comments, publication and subsequently, if required, preparation and provision of Expert Witnesses.

Support When You Require It - Mills Navigation will provide the expertise required to attend an incident, worldwide, to make initial assessments, publish reports and back-up with ongoing commitments.

PORT/TERMINAL/JETTY DESIGN

Consultants for port developments including Hazard Assessments and Risk Management. Mills Navigation works closely with a state of the art, Full Mission Bridge Simulation (FMBS) facility manned by very experienced pilots, tug skippers and technical staff.

By working with a simulation of a port design with current and meteorological data overlaid, we can provide a comprehensive study, using a wide range of port and ship design, that provides our clients with commercial feasibility as well as risk information to enable and ensure sound commercial planning.

Working closely with local Pilots, Hydrographers and our clients to ensure that there is up-to-date local input, the simulations are piloted by skilled mariners using available or proposed tug facilities. By doing this, a comprehensive feasibility and risk analysis can be developed that can provide detailed, dynamic marine information for the facilities that are to be used or proposed.

Specialising in tanker consultations, including LNG Carriers and FPSOs/FSRUs.

Using the FMBS comprehensive training of pilots, masters and tug skippers can be undertaken either independently or in the presence of facility owners/managers.
